CANDIDATES
Interim Museum Services LLC constantly recruits candidates who have served in directorship or chief operating positions in museums and trains them for the special additional qualities that distinguish interim directors from long-term directors.
Candidates chosen typically have decided to change their life style and are no longer interested in long-term directorship commitments. They are either of retirement age, but vigorous, and therefore welcome short appointments; or they are full-time consultants whose work includes interim assignments.
The ideal candidate is:
- A former director, interim director or COO of a museum or related organization
- Experienced in management and decision-making
- Widely known and able to access resources within the field
- Retired, in transition, or an independent consultant with assignment flexibility
- In a domestic situation which allows for independence
- Willing to commute or relocate for up to twelve months
- Held in high regard with multiple references
- Interested, dynamic and purposeful
- Not currently involved with clients whose interests might conflict
